The H2O Apartments are an innovative Seatttle apartment complex targeting LEED Gold certification. Early emphasis on energy savings enabled architectural concepts as well as mechanical and electrical solutions to contribute to the predicted energy savings of this project over conventional designs. Moving away from the traditional double-loaded corridor concept, exterior entries to all apartments significantly reduce the typically high energy consumption associated with common areas in multifamily buildings. High efficiency windows, lighting and appliances also contribute the predicted performance.
